A public interest litigation (PIL) has been filed at the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court by Nutan Thakur, an activist, against Robert Vadra for his supposed acts of crime in the land deals with DLF. The bench has also asked for the government’s response on the charges brought forward by Arvind Kejriwal. Meanwhile Congress has also brought accusations of corruption against Prashant Bhushan. November 21 has been fixed as the next day for hearing. Yet another PIL has been registered against Vadra at a lower court in Jaipur for his mango people comment by AC Upadhyay, a lawyer, at the court of SK Ojha, an Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate.
Upadhyay has stated that the comments of Vadra, which appeared on his Facebook page, were derogatory and were against the Indian people and constitution. The hearing for this PIL is October 18. On the other hand Congress has accused that Bhushan and his family members were involved in the acquisition of a land in Himachal Pradesh from the ruling BJP government for a low price. Rajeev Shukla, the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, has almost termed it as an act of corruption and stated that questions have been put forward to the state government but proper action remains to be taken. Delhi Police stated that they have been able to prevent a big terror attack at Delhi during the ensuing festival season by apprehending three individuals who are being thought to be operatives of the Indian Mujahideen (IM). A large amount of explosives – 10 detonators and approximately 5 kg improvised explosive device - has also been confiscated from them. Neeraj Kumar, the Police Commissioner of Delhi, has stated that two were arrested from Pul Prahladpur in south Delhi and the third man was arrested at the Nizamuddin Railway Station. He has also stated that the 3 were involved in the serial blasts that happened in Pune on August 1, as is evident from their confessions, and were being trained from across the border.
The three were also supposed to target the Bodhgaya Temple in Bihar. The police over there have been informed. The arrested individuals have confessed that they were in Delhi under instructions from the Bhatkal brothers, leaders of IM, and Fayyaz Ahmed Qagzi, a Lashkar-e-Taiba operative. The police are also looking to nail the person handling all the terrorists. They had initially planned to bomb the Pune Court or Yerawada Jail but were later asked to kill the near and dear ones of Ashok Bhalerao and Sharad Mohol who killed Qateel Siddique, an IM operative. Finally it was decided that the explosions would happen at either Pune or Mumbai.
