IPL Scam 2013 – Fresh Names Revealed by SC
After the announcement of Consumer Price Index, Wholesale Price Index is also announced. While WPI was 2.38 per cent in September 2014, it came down to 1.77 per cent in the month of October 2014. Three major reasons are there for this sharp fall and they are fall in general prices of fuel and power, manufacturing products, and primary articles including minerals, non-food items, and definitely food items. Fall of both CPI and WPI in October has created pressure on RBI Governor to cut rates.
State Bank of India’s 2nd quarter net profit has increased significantly because of robust income generation from interest, commissions, and fees. In comparison to 2nd quarter income of 2013 (which was Rs. 2,375 crore), it has now increased to Rs. 3,100 crore, a rise of 30.5 per cent. Total income during the same period also jumped from Rs. 37,199 crore to Rs. 41,833 crore.
Second quarter’s net profit of Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. has witnessed a sharp decline. Its net profit came tumbling from Rs. 456 crore during 2nd quarter of 2013 to Rs 125 crore of 2nd quarter of 2014, which amounts to a fall of 72.5 per cent. Net sales has come down to Rs 6,027 crore. Operating margin of Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. during the quarter was 4.7 per cent.
After Rahul Khullar (TRAI Chairman) openly asking for political resolution on the ongoing tussle between Department of Telecommunications and Defence Ministry, ministers of both the departments - Ravi Shankar Prasad and Manohar Parrikar respectively – have agreed to meet and bring a political resolution on the same. TRAI Chairman had earlier said that there will be acute spectrum shortage if the defence spectrum remains unavailable.
Forecast prediction of global economies by Morgan Stanley has revealed that GDP growth of India in the coming year will be 6.3 per cent, a significant rise from this year’s 5.3 per cent. During Annual Asia Pacific Summit the renowned firm predicted that US $-Indian Rupee exchange rate will remain more or less same by 2015-end as during fourth quarter of 2014.
Former Rajya Sabha MP from suspended Trinamool Congress member, Kunal Ghosh took fifty eight sleeping pills to commit suicide. 3 days back Ghosh had threatened of committing suicide if the real accused of Sharadha Scam were not put behind bars. The suicide attempt was made in Alipore Central Jail, which is surely yet another blot in the administrative capabilities of the West Bengal government. Kunal was rushed to government run SSKM Hospital. However, after checkup doctors have found vital statistics of the ex-Rajya Sabha member as normal. However, he is still under observation.
Passage of the Maharashtra’s Trust Motion through voice vote was not taken kindly either by Shiv Sena or Indian National Congress. Both the political parties have asked the governor of Maharashtra, C Vidyasagar Rao, to intervene because they questioned clarity in the voice vote itself. According to their claim there was lack of clarity in the actual number of legislators who voted in Trust Motion’s favour.
Three police officials working in Presidency Jail were suspended because of negligence in work after ex-Rajya Sabha MP and suspended TMC member Kunal Ghosh, who had alleged involvement in Saradha Scam, tried to commit suicide by taking 58 sleeping pills. Subramanian Swamy of BJP has said that Kunal Ghosh should name the real accused and also said that the former MP must apply for plea bargain.
Indian Prime Minister reached Australia today to join G20 Summit and tweeted that the day is sunny as well as bright in Brisbane. He is scheduled to visit Melbourne, Canberra, and Sydney. G20 Summit will start on September 15, 2014. During an interactive session with Queensland University of Technology’s students, he said that he feels fortunate to be among students during J. Nehru’s birth centenary.

Hugo Barra, VP of Xiaomi’s International Operations, has announced through his Facebook page that after initial huge success of Xiaomi Redmi Note in India, its next destination would be India. Last month he had claimed that Redmi Note will be available to general populace in two month’s time. Now, it seems Xiaomi Redmi Note will be available in India very soon.
Double ton and that’s too in a one-dayer is rare. However, Rahul Sharma, Indian cricket star has not only scored a double ton in a one day match but also slammed it twice in his lifetime. This makes him the only person in the history of one day cricket tournaments to score two double hundreds. He scored 200 runs in just 151 balls. He scored his first double ton on November 3 last year when he scored 209 runs against Australia.
Supreme Court today revealed some of the important names on whom investigation is carried out who had alleged involvement in 2013 IPL Scam. The apex court is still in the process of examining the concerned report. It has been revealed that Justice Mukul Mudgal’s probe report has thirteen names and the most prominent ones are Raj Kundra, Sundar Raman, Owais Shah, and Stuart Binny. SC also said that names like N. Srinivasan and Gurunath Meiyappan were already revealed earlier.
