Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav was welcomed with black flags and slogans on his visit to Muzzaffarnagar, a riot hit district. Reason of this anger was the communal violence that took 47 lives and more than 40,000 people were relocated. Localities were also angry on government for not taking effective steps in order to stop the communal flare. Kawal village was the first place visited by Akhilesh where three persons were killed on August 27 because of an eve teasing case. Akhilesh said that the incident was sad for the families as well as for government. He assured that proper action against culprits will be taken. The chief minister then left for Malikpura and Kandhla villages, another riot stricken places. He said the recovery of AK-47 cartridges in Baghpat is really a matter of big concern and strict action must be taken against responsible. As per official estimates 47 persons died in the riots including 38 persons who died in Muzaffarnagar. Government is trying to control the situation. Akhilesh said that he had met the family members of Shahnawaz, Gaurav and Sachin and also of slain engrave Rajesh Verma. All kind of help has been assured to them. He further said that investigation will bring out every fact responsible for riots.
Though in the recent weeks rupee has recovered a bit but the risk of its depreciation is still there and by the end of this year rupee is expected to be around 65 against the dollar. This has been said by HSBC, a London based banking and financial services company. The company has further said that risk to rupee remains there which involves increasing oil prices, more equity outflow, and a lack of policy stability. Based on the present and expected state of rupee, HSBC has also shifted their year-end USD-INR forecast to 65 from 61. Rupee was settled at 63.48 against the dollar on Friday. But, this year, Indian currency has seen all time low against dollar and fell down to 68.85 on 28th August. Value of rupee was 54.99 on 31st December. HSBC has further said that the rupee was falling down at a speed but policymakers in India stepped in to solve the problem. Though they have managed to do so but this is a short term relief to Indian currency. As per HSBC, rupee can be weakened by the upside economic data surprises in the US or Eurozone relative to Asia. In addition to this rupee can be hit by the Geopolitical risk occurring in West Asia.
India team A led by a skipper Yuvraj Singh, made 312 for four in rain-hit 42-overs. The one day match is being played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. Yuvraj made 123 runs out off 89 deliveries whereas a great contribution to the overall runs has also been made by Yusuf Pathan with 70 not out off 32 balls. Yuvraj Singh has also scored his 18th century in List A cricket. He hit eight fours and seven sixes before getting out in 40th over by the ball of right-arm spinner Nkrumah Bonner. His first boundary came after 39 balls and reached at 50 runs in 60 balls. But after this his blade showered fours and sixes in just 20 balls. In 2013, this is the first century of Yuvraj Singh. In 2012 while playing from Punjab, he made century against Madhya Pradesh in Gwalior in which he made 131 runs. Mandeep Singh came at number three and after making 67 runs from 78 balls he was bowled by left-arm spinner Nikita Miller on his first ball of 31st over. Though India made poor start as Unmukt Chand got out in third over and Robin Uthappa in the 12th over of the match but I managed to make a total of 312 runs.

Mid-segment mobile phone market in India is seeing a huge competition and this will be further intensified by the new upcoming smartphones from Samsung this month. Samsung has said that it is going to launch two more smartphones in India priced less than Rs 15,000. The company at present enjoys 49% share in India’s smart phone sector. Though no price of these phones has been disclosed by the Vineet Taneja, Samsung country head (mobile business) but a company official said that the price may be between in the Rs 5,000-15,000. Samsung new phones will compete with Nokia Lumia 520 and 620, Micromax Canvas 2 and Blackberry Curve series. The phones will have the option of nine vernacular languages. So the content and applications of smartphones can be accessed in vernacular languages such as Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Bengali, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Gujarati. This is done to attract the non Engish speaking perspective buyers in India. At present, Samsung offers 17 smartphones ranging between Rs 5,000 – Rs 39,000. Samsung is also all set to launch its first-class high-end smartphone, the Galaxy Note 3.
Agni-5, a new ballistic missile has been successfully test-launched at Wheeler Island, Odisha. Agni-5 has the potential of carrying a warhead to Beijing and Shanghai and even to Habin City, the northern most tip of China. The test-launch was done at 8:43 am. The test is done for the second time in the period of two years. The first test of this kind was done in April-2012. But before the actual induction and deployment of Agni-5 that is expected to be done in 2017, few more tests are required. Agni-5 was started to develop in 1983. Such a test is regarded as a major step of India in becoming a regional power. Agni-5 is a three-stage missile that can carry 1.5 tons of warhead. It has the range of 5,000 kilometers (3,100 miles), making it the farthest reaching missile in India. At present is the farthest reaching missile in India in Agni-3 with a reach of 3,500 kilometers (2,100 miles). Agni-5 is approximately 17 meters in length and weighs about 50 tons. With Agni-5, India can launch nuclear weapons from specific bombers and submarines. The INS Arihant, a nuclear-powered submarine that is made by India is also undergoing sea trials. It is expected that it will become the part of Indian Navy by 2016-17.
Drashti Dhami, a TV actress won the Jhalak Dikhla Ja season six. Drashti and Salman duo beat co-contestants Lauren Gottlieb - Puneet, singer Shaan - Marischa Fernandes and dancer Shonali and Sumanth. Jhalak Dikhla Ja is a celebrity reality dance show aired on channel Colors. Drashti who is doing a lead role in the daily soap Madhubala has a charm and enticed the judges with her performances along with her choreographer and a performer, Salman. With every passing episode, she was coming up as a great dancer. The show was judged by none other than Madhuri Dixit (a veteran actress), Karan Johar (a renowned director) and Remo D'Souza (choreographer). Sheer dedication and zeal to perform the best made her to win the show that consists of prize money of Rs 50 lakh and a trophy. On that occasion she thanked everybody especially her mother. Previous year’s winner and finalists had also performed on Jhalak Dikhla Ja season 6. The stage also saw comedy performance by the artists from Comedy Nights with Kapil. Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra also came to grace the grand finale. They performed on the song Raghupati Raghav from their upcoming movie Krrish 3. Other contestants of the show Mukti Mohan, Sana Saeed, Karanvir Bohra and Siddharth Shukla had also performed with them.
