As per reports, senior Congress leader and state cabinet minister Yashpal Arya has joined BJP on Monday, just before a month from assembly elections in Uttarakhand.
The BJP national president Amit Shah was present while State Irrigation Minister was joining the party during a function held in Delhi. Reports say that Arya’s son Sanjeev Arya will also be moving to BJP.
Arya is a six-term MLA. The reason of his switching to BJP is reportedly the minister's discontentment with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat.
