Union Cabinet Clears Civil Aviation Policy
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate a two-day annual conclave which will be attended by senior tax administrators of Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) & Central Board of Excise & Customs (CBEC). Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will also conduct a session during the conference that will deliberate on issues related to services to taxpayers and better implementation of fiscal laws and government policies, including those on curbing black money generation and circulation.
In what may give a major thrust to India's ailing civil aviation industry, the central government has cleared the country's much-needed first National Civil Aviation Policy. The policy will pave the way for start-up airlines to fly abroad, enhance air connectivity and also open up the skies for European and SAARC countries.
