The Indian government has asked Switzerland to speed up their process for sharing information on Indians who have accepted to having accounts in Swiss banks. Union finance minister Arun Jaitley conveyed this to Johann N. Schneider-Ammann, economic affairs minister of Switzerland, when both met in Delhi. Jaitley also took up the topic of Switzerland to co-operate with India to provide evidence in relation to the Indians who have unaccounted accounts and assets in Swiss banks.
Former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid said that he was never approached to take up the job to coach the Indian cricket team. He also said that he will think about this position once he will get an offer for the same from the Indian cricket board. Rahul also said that a coach for the Indian team should not be decided on the basis of his nationality, whether he is an Indian or a foreigner. There were speculations that the board is seeking an Indian cricketer this time to be the coach of the Indian cricket team.

Google India has launched two Chromebooks in India after partnering with Xolo and Nexian at Rs. 12,999. The Necian Air Chromebook is already available on Amazon India while the Xolo Chromebook will be sold on Snapdeal after few days. Besides these two new launches, Google has also announced that it will also introduce the Asus Chromebook Flip C201 and a Samsung’s model this year itself.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) will auction the investment limits for government debt securities amounting to Rs. 2,684 crores on Monday. The auction will be held on e-bid platform of NSE from 3.30-5.30 pm, after the normal market hours will be closed. Earlier, the auctions for the government debt securities were always over-subscribed several times due to interest among the foreign investors for these bonds.
A dispute over a plot of land in Rajasthan resulted in three people from the Dalit community being were run over by tractors after a person from the Jat community was killed. Several media reports are quoting different reasons for the violence. According to some reports, the clash took place when two different groups clashed with weapons. Other reports say that the dispute is over a piece of land between members of two different castes. As per police officials, a case has been registered against 12 people but no arrests have been made so far.
After 244 people allegedly committed suicide following conviction of AIADMK supreme Jayalalithaa, the party has given over Rs seven crore as relief to the families of the victims. The party has also given Rs. two lakh to four people for medical treatment. Besides announcing relief to the families, Jayalalithaa has also appealed to her supporters not to take such extreme steps due to her sentence.
