Senior Congress leader Margaret Alva in her autobiography “Courage and Commitment” claimed that Gandhi family has connections to Christian Michel’s (middleman of Agusta Westland scam) father Wolfgang Michel. She also said that it was she who raised voice against CPN Singh’s (ex-MoS Defence Production to South Africa and close aide of Sanjay Gandhi) infamous tank scam in the 1980s that led to his removal. The veteran Congress leader also mentions the deepening suspicion of Sonia Gandhi on erstwhile Prime Minister Narsimha Rao when his government appealed against a Delhi HC order that quashed Bofors Case linking Rajib Gandhi. However, Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala not only wondered about Alva’s sudden enlightenment after 30 years but also called it a ‘tool’ for popularising her book.
