A police complaint has been slapped on Boxer Vijender Singh for disrespecting the national flag of India. Vijender Singh wore a short during his maiden WBO Asia Pacific Super Middleweight title victory at Thyagaraja Stadium on Sunday against Australian Kerry Hope. On the back of his short the national flag was placed. Ullhas PR has filed the complaint against him at New Ashok Nagar Police Station to insult the flag.
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court mentioned that Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi must face trials. Rahul Gandhi had accused Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of killing Mahatma Gandhi. The Supreme Court has given Gandhi time till next Wednesday to detail his arguments. However, Rahul Gandhi said that his remark is based upon a historical fact and statement was within his right to free speech.
Navjot Sidhu resigned from Rajya Sabha as well as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday and is likely to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). His wife Navjot Kaur said that he wants to serve Punjab, and the only option he has now is to join AAP. She also said that only Sidhu knows if AAP has given him some options, and he will reveal everything in the press conference.
After Kerala, Gujarat government is considering imposing fat tax. The state is planning to impose 14.5% tax on junk food like Pizza and Burger. However, it will be applied from next fiscal year. The aim behind the initiative is to keep people away from harmful food habits and also raise money for preventive healthcare measures.
