Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Fayaz Ahmad Bhat's Bullet Riddled Body found in Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir police today recovered Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Fayaz Ahmad Bhat’s bullet riddled body from Devbugh village (a place near Kashmir’s Tangmarg area). While speaking to media, a police official said that the slain Hizbul Mujahideen Commander was active in the region for over 6 years. He went on to say that Bhat’s body will be handed over to his family for last rites after completing necessary formalities. The slain militant’s body was recovered just a week after recovery of bullet riddled body of three Kashmiri youths from Baramulla district of Kashmir.

Somdev Devvarman defeats Czech Republic's Jiri Vesely in Straight Sets in Davis Cup World Group Play-off

India’s ace tennis player Somdev Devvarman stunned Jiri Vesely of Czech Republic in straight sets (7-6, 6-4, 6-3) during a 2 hours and 43 minutes duel between the two at Davis Cup World Group Play-off tie. With this win, India tied the play-off 1-1 with Czech Republic. Earlier, Yuki Bhambri of India was defeated by Lukas Rosol in straight sets (2-6, 1-6, 5-7) in the opening match. Men’s doubles pair Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna today went down to Czech duo Radek Stepanek and Adam Pavlasek in straight sets (5-7, 2-6, 2–6). With this loss, Czech Republic took a 2-1 lead over India.

Faridabad Deputy Commissioner Launches Computer Literacy Vehicle "E-Vidyavahini"

Faridabad Deputy Commissioner, Amit Kumar Agrawal, launched a computer literacy vehicle named “E-Vidyavahini” on Friday, complying with the “Digital India Mission”. Reports say that the concerned vehicle will travel to various parts (including remote rural and urban areas) of the Faridabad district. A press release said that an agreement was signed between President of Rotary Club of Faridabad Sanskar, Gopal Kukreja, and Deputy Commissioner of Faridabad (in the capacity of President District Red Cross Society) for running “Digital Literacy Bus-E-Vidyavahini”, which was dedicated by Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar to people of Haryana on September 5. Reports say that the bus is equipped to teach computer to 20 students at a time.

Finance Minister calls Indian Economy a Brighter Spot, Insulated from Global Economic Fallout

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has called India a “brighter spot” in the world economic scenario.  He also claimed that Indian economy is unaffected by the global economic slowdown. While speaking at The Singapore Summit 2015, Jaitley said that downturn in the two segments - oil and commodities – didn’t affect Indian economy adversely mainly because India is a net importer of crude oil. He also stressed on the point that India doesn’t come in the production chain of China and that’s why the recent jerks in the Chinese economy haven’t adversely affected India. Finance Minister went on to say that Indian economy will benefit till low price regime continues.

PMO directed Covert Operation of Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau busts Rs. 4 Crore Mining Scam

Government sources say that Anti Corruption Bureau of Rajasthan carried out a covert operation, at the behest of Prime Minister’s Office, and busted multi-crore mining scam in the state. Reports say that the operation was carried out even without informing Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje and Home Minister of state Gulab Chand Kataria. It is learnt that Rajasthan ACB acted upon the report of Rajasthan’s mining lobby to the PMO as well as to Amit Shah (National President of BJP) around 6 months back and arrested Ashok Singhvi (Rajasthan’s mining secretary and 1983 batch IAS officer). During the raid, more than Rs. 4 crore has been seized and 7 more arrested.

Hardik Patel Detained by Gujarat Cops Today for Launching Ekta Yatra despite Denial of Permission

Convener of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS), Hardik Patel, along with 78 other rallying persons were detained by Gujarat police today morning from Surat after he launched Ekta Yatra inspite of the court’s prohibitive order on  holding the rally. After Hardik and his comrades’ detention, Patel Nav Nirman Sena demanded release of the rallyists and warned of launching nationwide "jail bharo" agitation if their demands are not met. National secretary of Patel Nav Nirman Sena, Akhilesh Katiyar, has alleged that both Gujarat and Union governments are creating a emergency-like situation by tapping leaders’ phones and blocking all modes of communication including internet. He also requested Gujarat CM for releasing Hardik Patel.
