A team of eight doctors are attending to her and a detailed examination has been done on her. The doctors said they would not keep her in hospital for long. The rape accused has been arrested from Muzaffarpur district in Bihar.
Home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde had assured of a thorough investigation in the case. BJP leader Sushma Swaraj stated that the rapists of such a young girl shows mental sickness and that the accused should be given shock treatment by hanging.
Protests continued outside the Delhi Police Headquarters.
Eight men allegedly gang raped a 13-year-old girl, four of whom were known to her. The incident happened as the capital experienced an outrage over the horrific rape of a five-year-old girl. Three of the accused have been arrested.
The girl and her 12-year-old brother were abducted by two men whom they knew on March 15th from outside their house in the Farsh Bazar area in east Delhi. They were taken to Loni in the city suburbs where the girl was gang-raped by the eight men.
Deepak (21), Ranjeet (20) and Sohan Lal (24) were arrested on Saturday, after a medical examination of the victim on April 15th. The girl is being treated at the Hedgewar Hospital in east Delhi. The police said that her father did not file a rape compliant but a missing complaint instead. The girl’s family, meanwhile, alleged that the police refused to register their complaint. They then approached the local court on April 9th which directed the police to lodge a rape case.
393 rapes have taken place in Delhi in the first three months of the year.

Chris Gayle (49 not out, 44b, 4x4, 1x6) steered Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) out of a mini-collapse as the hosts beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by seven wickets for their fifth win in seven matches and edged to the top of the Pepsi Indian Premier League (IPL) table on Saturday.
RR who batted first after losing the toss fumbled against some tight bowling and were out for 117 in the last over. RCB were 64 for three but Gayle and Saurabh Tiwary (25 not out) compiled 59 runs for the unfinished fourth wicket. RCB thus maintained their unbeaten streak at home this season, and acquired 10 points. This is the same as Sunrisers Hyderabad who were second due to an inferior run-rate while RR stayed at eight points, finishing at the fourth spot behind Chennai Super Kings on NRR count.
On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja with his all-round performance led Chennai Super Kings to a four-wicket win over defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders. He, with a figure of 3-20 and a heroic and unconquered 36 in 14 balls, got over the Knights' modest 119/9 with five balls to spare.
