Ashram of self-made godman Asaram Bapu at Bil village near Vadodara has been raided by the police. The raid has been performed to find his fugitive son Narayan Sai. Police is searching him in connection with a sexual assault case. It was suspected that Narayan Sai was hiding in that ashram. But police has not found him at the ashram. A joint team of the Surat and Vadodara Police had carried out the raid. Input for the same has been given by Dharmendra Pariyar alias Dharmesh (28), the assistant of Narayan Sai. Dharmendra was arrested from Rajendra Nagar in Delhi. Two complaints have been registered by the Surat police one against Asaram and one against his son. The charges have been alleged by the two sisters. But the case against Asaram was moved to Chandkheda police station as the incident took place here. The elder sister said that Asaram had sexually assaulted her between 1997 and 2006 at his ashram on the outskirts Ahmedabad. Whereas the younger sister had accused Narayan Sai in her complaint and said that he had sexually assaulted her between the year 2002 and 2005.
15-day operation by the Army in Keran sector is under question. Keran is located along the LoC. To discuss the entire matter, the high-level meeting with the armed forces including the three Services chiefs and Defence Secretary RK Mathur will be held later this month by the Defence Minister AK Antony. It is expected that Shivshankar Menon, the National Security Adviser will also be there in the meeting who has briefed the Prime Minister about the entire incident. In the meeting, review of the operation is expected to be done. The meeting came into the picture after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh showed a concern over the issue of Keran sector where a large group of terrorist activity was engaged but nobody was found after 15 days. The matter is also expected to be discussed in the four-day Army Commanders' Conference that is going to start from October 21. The basic objective would be to chalk out the strategies so that such incidents can be handled in the future. Army’s preparedness has also been questioned because of two more incidents in which attack on Indian troop has happened inside Indian territory and ceasefire infringements by Pakistan.

This is regarded as an innovation by the Raj Nayak, CEO – COLORS. Viewers on the whole can have a new experience by stepping in into the shoes of the main characters of the serial. The Indian cricket squad that played the first three ODIs will also play the other four ODIs against Australia in the seven-match series. Pacer Ishant Sharma will remain in the team for the matches. Ishant’s place in the team was doubtful after he gave away 30 runs in a single over in the last match. In spite of this he retained his place. Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said that he would like to give struggling players a longer rope. Same is the case of the other two pacers - R Vinay Kumar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Ishant gave 189 runs for two wickets for an economy rate of 7.87 for the three matches. Whereas Bhuvneshwar has taken one wicket gave 145 runs and has the economy rate of 5.37. Five wickets have been taken by Vinay Kumar and gave away 191 runs at an economy rate of 7.20. Mohammed Shami and Jaydev Unadkat are the other two options who have not got any chance in the series so far. All the batsmen have been retained. Yuvraj Singh scored 7 and 0 in the two innings and has been retained because of his past experience and ability. Remaining four matches of this ODI series are going to held as per the mentioned schedule: Ranchi (October 23), Cuttack (October 26), Nagpur (October 30) and Bangalore (November 2).

Mars mission satellite was integrated with the rocket by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). Whereas, still the work is going on, the heat shield is expected to be done in a couple of days. An ISRO official has told that the 1,340 kg satellite has been joined with the rocket today and work on heat shield will be closed in couple of days. ISRO Chairman K Radhakrishnan also told that the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) worth Rs 450 crore will be delayed by a week because one of the two ships, Nalanda and Yamuna, carrying the rocket tracking system has not reached Fiji. Nalanda is expected to reach on 21st October. Ships from there will reach to their respective locations. The Malgalyaan mission was scheduled for 28th October from ISRO's rocket launch centre in Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. Launch window is kept between 28th October to 19th November but the date will be reworked once the ships reaches Fiji. 22nd October looks like a promising date for ISRO as it is a Tuesday and in Tamil, planet Mars is known as Sevvai Graham and Tuesday is also known as Sevvai. In Hindi Mars is known as Mangal and Tuesday is known as Mangalwar.
K Raghavan Master, a renowned music composer passed away at a private hospital in Thalassery. He was 99 years old and added a folk feel to Malayalam film songs. He complained of difficulty in breathing and admitted to the hospital for the same where he breathed his last at 4.30 am on Saturday. Master was the recipient of Padmashri award in 2010. His music was really soul-touching. He had a long career of near about six decades in which he composed music for more than 405 songs covering more than 65 films. 'Nirmalyam', 'Utharayanam', 'Nagarame Nanni', 'Unniyarcha', 'Ramanan', and 'Kallichellamma' are few of his prominent movies. He was honored with J C Daniel Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997 by the state government. Master was born on 2nd December, 1913 and inclined towards music since childhood. He got training in classical music and then joined All India Radio, Madras and worked there as a tanpura artist. A turning point in his career came when he joined litterateur Uroob (PC Kuttikrishnan) and poet P Bhaskaran at Kozhikode.
