The Redmi Note latest from Xiaomi is all set to come to India at a price Rs 9,999. Major e-commerce websites are likely to start selling this phablet in a couple of week's time. The smartphone has MediaTek's octa-core MTK 6592 1.7GHz processor, 5.5 inch HD IPS display and a 3,100 mAh lithium-polymer battery. The Redmi Note has 13MP rear camera and the 5 MP front facing camera at such a reasonable cost.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi while addressing an election rally at Jharkhand urged people of the state to vote for Congress for a strong government. Backing Congress, she said that the party has always fought for the rights of people and believed in the growth of all the sections of the society. The party will keep on doing such good work. Congress worked for the development and empowerment of tribal, dalits, women, backward and minority classes and weaker sections of the society. She then blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for not using the funds allocated by the previous UPA government for the state.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitely promised to have a more exciting time ahead as per media report. He said that a "whole set of second generation reforms" will be revealed in the next Union Budget. Finance Minister added that India needs stability of policy and tax program and if all the proposed steps are taken then the GDP growth is expected to cross 6% in 2015-16. He stated that certain sectors and areas like the coal ordinance, allocation of natural resources, certain procedural changes in the land (acquisition) law need undoing. In the past six month the NDA government has taken certain steps that has transformed the sentiments, he added.
Ethiopian runner Guye Adola won the international men's category while women's event of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon was won by Kenyan Florence Kiplagat. Florence Kiplagat defeated Gladys Cherono and won the event by completing it in 01:10:04. Third position was bagged by Worknesh Degefa who completed the event in 01:10:07. Adola completed Marathon in a record time 59.06 minutes breaking last year's record made by Atsedu Tsegay.
While addressing at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit in Delhi, Home minister Rajnath Singh accused Pakistan for terrorism in India. He said that ISI is aiding terrorism and Pakistan is giving shelter to Dawood Ibrahim. Mr Singh also added that India wants to have a friendly relationship with Pakistan but it looks like as if Islamabad is not ready to do the same with New Delhi.
Imam Syed Ahmed Bhukhari's son Shaban Bhukari has been coronated as the fourteenth Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid. Imam Syed anointed his son as the Nabi Imam, the deputy Imam. The event was attended by thousands of Muslims in the Mosque. The walled city was in a festive mood with lights and food stalls all around.
