"Dhoom 3" is all set to hit the theaters on 20th December and Yash Raj Films is planning its promotion in a unique way. The producer Aditya Chopra is in a lookout for something novel that has never been done before in the marketing strategy for any movie promotion. In fact his team has been asked to come up with something in that line and no run of the mill ideas. The approach will be applied to music launch, theatrical promotion and all other promotional activities. “Dhoom 3” is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and will feature Aamir Khan in a negative character. Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra and Katrina Kaif are also there in the movie.

Google has appealed the masses here, i.e., those who have access to the Internet, and has thus got the coveted tag of being the most attractive Internet brand in India as per the research done by Trust Research Advisory (TRA). Yahoo stands at the 2nd position which is a clear indicator that the recent changes taken up by the brand is actually showing results. It appears to be on threshold of gaining the popularity it once had. Facebook followed at 3rd position. For this survey the feedback of 2,500 people in 16 cities was used. India now has 74 million people who use Internet as there has been a growth of 31% toppling even Japan to stand 3rd in the user base after China and the US.
Rs. 14,000 crore equity capital will be pumped by the government in 20 public sector banks in the current fiscal. This would be done through preferential assignment of equity. SBI will receive Rs. 2,000 crore equity capital while Rs. 1,800 crore each will be given to the Central Bank of India and IDBI Bank. Indian Overseas Bank will get Rs. 1,200 crore equity capital and Rs. 1,000 crore Bank of India. PNB and Union Bank of India will Rs. 500 crore each. UBI will receive Rs.700 crore, Syndicate and UCO Bank will be getting Rs.200 crore each and Vijaya Bank will get Rs.250 crore. Other banks will receive equity capital as mentioned:
- Rs.800 crore for Bank of Maharashtra
- Rs.700 crore for Dena Bank
- Rs.500 crore for Canara Bank
- Rs.550 crore for Bank of Baroda
- Rs.450 crore for Corporation Bank
- Rs 400 crore for Allahabad Bank
- Rs.200 crore for Andhra Bank
Rs. 12,517 crore was infused in 13 banks belonging to the public sector in the last fiscal.
Indian boxers created history in the World Boxing Championship being held at Almaty (Kazakhstan) when as many as five boxers got into the quarterfinals for the very first time. If they win one more match they will get the bronze. In 2011 four boxers had reached the quarterfinals in Azerbaijan. This time Satish Kumar (+91kg), Sumit Sangwan (81kg), Manoj Kumar (64kg), Vikash Malik (60kg) and Shiva Thapa (56kg) are in the final list of eight. National coach Gurbax Singh Sandhu was very happy with the development. It was Vikash who was started the historic story when he punched fifth seed Miklos Varga 3-0. Miklos had won silver at 2008 European Championships. Sumit posted a 3-0 win over Siarhei Novikau of Belarus who is seeded eighth. When Satish went for the bout, expectations were already high. He won over Yan Sudzilouski of Belarus by again 3-0.
Pakistan Rangers resorted to heavy firing at 50 posts along the LoC in the Jammu region. This resulted in the loss of life one paramilitary trooper and eight people that also included one civilian were injured. Heavy firing has resulted in residents abandoning two border villages. Pakistan Rangers used rockets, mortars and automatics in the firing at the Indian posts in R.S. Pura, Arnia and Ramgarh sectors of the International Border. The shelling which continued throughout the night left two villages, S.M. Pur and Jasso Chak, deserted. The people have returned here after they were assured that there was no danger but the firing started again at 8:45 pm on Tuesday and lingered on till today morning. The Indian soldiers responded with similar arms and weapons. The BSF trooper who lost his life was M.L. Meena, from Rajasthan. He died at Chenaz post in Arnia sector as a mortar shell directly hit him at the BSF post.
India and China have entered into a strategic agreement following 6 months after a tense situation which prevailed for 3 weeks on the India-China border. The agreement looks into establishing peace on the border which is disputed and also looks into strengthening economic ties and setting up of 3 sister cities on both sides. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that this was very much needed as peace formed the basic foundation of their relation and thus both sides should look into a solution which was mutually acceptable regarding the boundary issue. Chinese Premier Li describing the Border Defence Cooperation Agreement (BDCA) as a "strategic agreement" specified that it will be helpful for establishing peace on the border. The Chinese troops have got inside the Indian Territory in Ladakh on 16th April which culminated in 3 weeks of confrontation, which was pacified with negotiations.
