The UP government has incorporated huge security to obstruct VHP’s initiative to host "84 Kosi Parikrama Yatra" in Ayodhya. To this, the VHP has retaliated with a call for national stir. Hundreds of activists and seers have been arrested and the top leaders of the organization have been detained in Ayodhya and Lucknow. Even Ashok Singhal, was arrested the moment he landed at the Amausi Airport and was sent to Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary guest house in Unnao district. Singhal came down heavily on the state government and stated he had come to take part in the peaceful ritual and gave a warning to the state government not to play with the emotions of the Hindus. He further added that Lord Rama will not dwell under a tent and that the parliament should look into the procedure for the building up of a Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Nokia has termed India as the "least favourable market", and it plans to go from here and export from China. In fact, through a letter Nokia had urged the government that its investment decisions will be affected because of the risk in operating in India due to political reasons and requested to respond at the earliest. The discontent has emerged as disputes regarding income tax and there are delays in VAT refund too. Moreover, given the present situation in the country where foreign direct investment is heavily affected, Nokia finds it to be more profitable to manufacture in China and import to India rather than manufacturing in Chennai.
Indian women's archery team grabbed a gold after defeating Koreans at the World Cup Archery held in Wroclaw, Poland. This is the second win for the title in a row for Deepika Kumari, Rimil Buriuly and Laishram Bombayla Devi when they defeated London Olympic gold winners 219-215. Last month the team had won against China in Medellin.
Katrina Kaif is not too pleased with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who replaced her as the brand ambassador of a real estate ad. This is because Katrina was approached earlier and as per the sources she had no idea that she was replaced even though she is believed to have signed on the dotted lines. Though nothing has been clarified by Katrina’s spokesperson but the real estate company stated that they had approached Katrina but could not finalize the contract as certain things were not in sync with their brand positioning. Whatever may be the reason, this may have again started a tussle of sorts between the two actors.
