Japanese auto Nissan is calling back its compact car Micra and mid sized sedan Sunny in India because of faulty airbags manufactured by its supplier Takata. Nissan will recall cars manufactured between 2008 to 2012. Customers will be notified for the same and they can then visit the Nissan dealers who will replace the part at zero cost. Last month Maruti Suzuki had recalled 69,555 units of Dzire, Swift and Ritz models manufactured between March 2010 to August 2013 for repairing wiring harness fitment.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 2, a mid-range smartphone has been launched by Samsung in India. The smartphone costs Rs 20,900 and will be available for purchase from online store of Samsung. 6-inch display comes with a 720x 1280 pixels resolution and equipped with a 5 MP front camera and 8 MP rear camera with LED flash. Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 comes with 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 64GB with the help of microSD card support. The smartphone is running on Android 4.4 KitKat which will be updated to the Android 5.0 Lollipop in few months.
Manohar Lal Khattar of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and his council of ministers took an oath of office. He is the BJP's first chief minister in Haryana. The swearing in ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, home minister Rajnath Singh, former deputy prime minister LK Advani and party President Amit Shah. Arrangements were made to accomodate more than 50,000 people at the 13-acre fair ground in Sector 5, Panchkula.
The central government has taken the decision to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' (National Unity Day). To pay tribute to this great leader who worked to unify India, the day will be celebrated on Oct 31 every year. Union Minister Rajnath Singh added that on that day a function will be held at Patel Chowk, Parliament Street, New Delhi to pay floral tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The gorvernment will also organize 'Run for Unity', a pledge taking ceremony and 'March Past' by police.
Sania Mirza and Cara Black, the third-seeded Indo-Zimbabwean pair saved three match points against Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik the Czech-Slovenian pair in the super tie breaker. Indo-Zimbabwean combo was lagging behind 6-9 but bounced back to catch the 4-6 7-5 11-9. Sania and Cara played the year end final and win the semifinal in two hours and one min.
Haryana will have its new non-Jat chief minister today. Bharatiya Janata Party's Karnal MLA Manohar Lal Khattar will take oath as Haryana's chief minister in the swearing-in ceremony that will take place in Panchkula at HUDA ground in Sector 5. The state for the past three consecutive terms has been ruled by a jat leader. It is after 15 years that Haryana will have a non-Jat chief minister. Khattar worked for RSS from 1980 to 1994 and then joined the BJP. He is also a close aide of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The function is likely to be attended by Prime Minister, few Union Cabinet ministers, party chief Amit Shah, and other senior leaders of the party and Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal.
