The Mumbai gang rape survivor who was raped by five men on Thursday was released from the hospital on Tuesday. The statement though was made today of her discharge to maintain her privacy. On the other hand there are some sticky issues emerging in the probe of the rape. Firstly, one of the accused has been found to be minor. Earlier his grandmother had submitted details which specified he was 16 years of age but the police was not ready to believe and said he was 19 years of age. But a municipal corporation record states he was born in 1997. Also the officers looking into the investigation had disclosed his identity which is against the norms. Then one of the accused is believed to be an informer of the police. The accused were taken to the spot by the police so that they can enact the crime scene.

Though the market caught its breath and ended 0.16 per cent or 28.07 points higher at 17,996.15. Rupee seems to be on a slider rushing down like never before as it dipped 3.13% after the session started at 67.06. It has seen 8% decline in the week and 19% dip compared to last year. Amid all this gold prices soared to a record high of Rs. 34,500 per ten gram.
