In-line with its stiff rival SpiceJet, Jet Airways has announced a cut down on the prices of tickets on domestic routes. The tickets would be available at a discounted price of Rs 716 (excluding taxes) and the offer is open for bookings done till December 31, 2015 for travel between January 15, 2016 and April 12, 2016.
India’s biggest liquor company United Spirits has received the consent of its shareholders on declaring itself “sick”. Reason for this action is believed to be the company’s accumulated losses, as of March 31, 2015 which touched a whopping 86 percent of its peak net worth during the former 4 consecutive financial years.
The Election Commission of India has announced the launch of a nationwide programme that would link the server of Registrar of Birth and Death of each individual district with its own server. This would be done as an attempt to ensure automatic deletion of the voter’s name from the electoral rolls, post the issuance of his/her death certificate.
A Kerala-based IAF employee Ranjith KK was arrested on Monday for divulging highly sensitive information regarding the strategic operations of some IAF units to an ISI agent. On interrogation, Ranjith confessed that he was honeytrapped by the ISI through a woman who befriended him on Facebook. Mcnaught Damini, allegedly from the UK, lured Ranjith through sleaze talk and seductive text and media messages in order to extract highly sensitive information on IAF for the ISI.
Today, both Nifty and Sensex are presumed to open flat with the Asian shares packing up during early trading. HDFC Bank would be under the scanner as the same has reduced the base rate by 0.05 percent to 9.30 percent, in a way bringing down the interest rate on varied loans.

Developed in joint collaboration with India and Israel, the Barak-8 surface-to-air missile would be tested tonight after 12:00am from INS Kokata. The Indian Navy would be performing the maiden test of Barak-8 which has been specially designed to defend against helicopters, projectiles and short-to-long-range airborne threats.
Indian professional golfer Jeev Milkha Singh has brought former Asia No.1 Liang Web-Chong of China on-board to serve as the vice-captain for the EurAsia Cup scheduled to take place at the Glenmarie Golf and Country Club from 15 - 17 January, 2016. With Liang's support, Jeev expects a positive impact on Team Asia.
