Sushma Swaraj Reacts to Kulbhushan Jadhav's Death Sentence

As per reports, a stern warning to Pakistan was issued by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday. She cautioned them that they should think about the consequences of carrying out Kulbhushan Jadhav's death sentence on bilateral relations between India and Pakistan.

Swaraj mentioned in the parliament that the government will do everything required to help Jadhav get the legal support he needs to fight in this case. She also said that the government will take take up the matter at the United Nations as well.

Mamata Banerjee Meets Modi, Seeks Release of Funds Due to West Bengal

As per reports, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee met prime minister Narendra Modi on Monday and sought funds over Rs 10,000 crore to be released due to the state. In a nearly half an hour meeting, Banerjee discussed the debt situation in the state; however, there was no discussion on the Teesta River water sharing with Bangladesh.

IT-officials Raid TN Health Minister Vijayabaskar and Actor Sarathkumar's Premises

As per reports, Income Tax officials began search on Tamil Nadu health minister C Vijayabaskar's several premises on Friday morning. The same search was conducted on actor and All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi leader R Sarathkumar, vice-chancellor of Dr MGR Medical University S Geethalakshmi and former AIADMK legislator Chitlapakkam Rajendran as well.

The step was taken by the IT-officials after complaints were received against Vijayabaskar for being involved in distributing cash to voters in RK Nagar constituency where a byelection is going to be held on 12 April.

The searches began at 6 am.

Prices for Petrol and Diesel to be Changed Daily from 1 May

As per reports, keeping with the international rates, the prices for petrol and diesel are going to change on daily basis from 1 May. The pilot project is going to be launched by the major oil companies such as Indian Oil Corp (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL) in five cities. The five cities include Vizag in Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Udaipur in Rajasthan, Jamshedpur in Jharkhand and Chandigarh.

SoftBank Pushes for a Merger Between Flipkart and Snapdeal

As per reports, Japanese giant SoftBank has called for a merger between Flipkart and Snapdeal. SoftBank is likely to acquire around 15% shares in the merged entity of Snapdeal and Flipkart. SoftBank currently owns 30% shares in Snapdeal being the largest investor. Flipkart which is based out of Bangalore is estimated to be valued at $10-11 billion.

Flipkart would be getting a strong anchor investor in form of SoftBank’s arrival giving it the required footing to battle Amazon.

ISRO launches its heaviest ever rocket GSLV Mark III D1
According to reports, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has launched its heaviest ever rocket GSLV Mark III D1 from Sriharikota. This is the first developmental flight of the heavy-lift launch vehicle GSLV Mark-III D1 that can carry 4-ton class satellites into the 36000 kilometer geostationary orbits.
As per reports, the mission's success will enable India to launch four-tonne satellites on its own rocket instead of paying huge amounts of money to foreign space agencies to execute the operation.
President Congratulates DRDO For Successful MRSAM Missile Launch
President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday congratulated the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for successfully test-firing a medium-range ballistic missile, developed jointly with Israel. On Thursday, India test-fired twice a medium-range surface-to-air ballistic missile, off the coast of Odisha. Mukherjee also conveyed his greetings to the members of the team of scientists, engineers, and all others involved in the mission. 
As per reports, the first missile to be developed by DRDO under India's Integrated Guided Missile Development Program, Prithvi-II was inducted into India's armed forces in 2003. The Prithvi-II missile is capable of carrying 500 kg to 1,000 kg of warheads.
Truecaller Enters Lucrative Mobile Payment Market in India

As per reports, Truecaller partnering up with ICICI bank launched a service called Truecaller Pay which lets Android users transfer money securely using mobile phones.

Truecaller is a popular call monitoring and spam call identification app based in Stockholm. At an event on Tuesday in New Delhi, they announced a refreshed design of their mobile app Truecaller 8, introducing two new features for flagging spam SMS and make mobile payments.

India beat Pakistan by 124 runs in ICC Champions Trophy match

This may be an old, storied rivalry but in recent years these games have been anything but competitive. It was more of the same as India cruised to a 124-run victory. Pakistan’s target, adjusted to 324, was further revised to 289 in 41 overs following more showers.

After India had been asked to bat, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan added 136 for the opening wicket, before Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kohli clubbed Pakistan around in thrilling fashion. Hardik Pandya walked in ahead of MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav, and clobbered three successive sixes as Imad Wasim found himself stuck with last-over duties. India scored 72 off the last four overs.The end was all too swift for Pakistan, which lost its last six wickets for 50 runs.
FIFA President Infantino Congratulates Aizawl FC on Winning First National Title

As per reports, through a letter addressed to president of All India Football Association, the FIFA President Gianni Infantino congratulated the Aizawl FC on winning the I-League championship. In his letter Infantino congratulated the players, coach and staff of the club for spreading the positive message of football.

In the second match of Federation Cup 2017, Aizawl FC is scheduled to play Chennai City FC on Sunday.

Vinod Khanna Dies after Battling Cancer for Many Years

As per reports, the heartthrob of Hindi films, Vinod Khanna died at 11.20 am on Thursday after battling bladder cancer for many years. He was 70.

Sources revealed that the funeral will take place on Wednesday evening.

His friends and colleagues from the film fraternity shared their grief at his death.

TB patients to submit Aadhaar details for cash benefits

According to reports, TB patients will now have to submit their Aadhaar number to avail benefits under a central government scheme. According to notifications issued by the Health Ministry, those who do not have Aadhaar card have to get themselves enrolled by 31 August 2017. The notification also states that it is applicable in all the states and Union Territories except Assam, Meghalaya and Jammu and Kashmir.

AP government planning Airports in private sector at Amaravati, Vizag

According to reports, the government of Andhra Pradesh is planning private airports at Amaravati and Visakhapatnam. The Central government has launched the UDAN regional connectivity scheme to make air travel affordable to the common man. The AP government revived the Kadapa airport and developed international airports at Tirupati and Visakhapatnam.

International Yoga Day being celebrated world-wide today

"Yoga for Health" is the theme by the UN for this year's International Yoga day. According to reports, International Yoga Day is being celebrated world-wide. From New Delhi to New York and Paris to Panama, Yoga Day celebrations are taking place as about 5,000 events are being held across 180 countries to mark the day. The main event of Yoga Day Celebrations was held in Lucknow. Prime Minister Modi participated with many dignitaries at Ramabai Ambedkar Ground.
