Festivals of Delhi are the most important part of the Delhi Culture. Delhi Festivals represent the culture and tradition of the city. The important Festivals in Delhi are Diwali, Dussera, Lohri, Baisakhi, Holi, Mango festival, Maha Shivaratri, Christmas, New Years and a lot more. Among these the most significant ones are Diwali and Dussera, which are celebrated in the month of October every year.
Lohri, which is celebrated at the climax of winter, which is mostly in the month of January. Traditionally lohri is observed with bonfires and included singing and dancing. There are special songs for this occasion. Holi, which is celebrated in March, is a festival of colors. People play with different color both in powder as well as liquid form. Baisakhi, which signifies the new year in Indian calendar is observed in the middle to April. Mango festival, which signifies the growth of the fruit, is observed in April May.
