Art and sculpture played a pivotal role in promoting the Mughal culture to reach the zenith. There were several painting schools helping the students to master the art of painting. Each school differed from the other in style and theme. The Iranian style of painting was also blended with the Indian style to create a unique style that earned worldwide fame. Humayun introduced the Iranian style in India, which he saw in Iran when he took refuge in Iran. The style reached its height during the rule of Akbar. The Mughal miniature paintings followed both the narrative and lyrical style of content. Bright colors like yellow, green, red and blue bore aboriginal influence. The art became more neat and polished during the reign of Aurangzeb. However during Shah Jahan's rule sculpture and architectural designs began to flourish along with miniature paintings. The distinct style of the Mughal miniature paintings still fascinates millions of people from across the world and remains one of the subtle arts to be mastered. Imam Bakhsh, Dip Chand and Chitarman were some of the pioneers, who mastered the beautiful art.
