Constructed in the year 1956, it was a dream come true for Nehru and Rajkumari Amrit Kaur who was the then Health Minister of India. In co-operation with the Bhore Committee, which was headed by Sir Joseph Bhore and the government of New Zealand, the country got its first organized health center, catering to the health needs of the country.
