Madanlal Khurana

Madanlal Khurana was born in Lyallpur, which is presently referred to as Faisalabad in Pakistan, on October 15th 1936. A vibrant political leader and a persona who has contributed heftily to the functioning of Politics in India.

When the BJP party was on a cross-roads after its failure in the general elections of 1984, Madanlal Khurana was the one who rejuvenated the spirit of the party and encouraged it to move ahead with the upcoming elections. While the party was still recovering from the shock of losing a patron like Indira Gandhi, Madanlal Khurana worked relentlessly towards the progress of the party.

Political career of Madanlal Khurana

Despite the ups and downs in his political life, Madanlal Khurana persists to be the backbone of the political organizations in India. Important milestones in the political career of Madanlal Khurana are:
  • 1993-1996- Chief Minister of Delhi
  • January 14, 2004 to October 28, 2004- Governor of Rajasthan
  • September 12, 2005 to March 19,2006- Re-instated into his former position in the BJP or the Bharatiya Janata Dal party and was re-assigned his former responsibilities.
  • He is presently working with the Bharatiya Jan Shakti party, which is led by Uma Bharti.
Vibrant and dynamic, Madanlal Khurana with his expertise and experience, has earned himself the designation of 'Dilli Ka Sher' or the 'Lion of Delhi'.
