Hauz Khas Monument

The Hauz Khas Monument was built by Firoz-Shah Tuglaq on the eastern and the southern sides of the royal tank called the Hauz-i-Alai, which was an important reservoir of water supply for Siri, which was a newly built fort constructed by Sultan Ala-ud-din Khilji in the year 1300. The Hauz Khas Monument comprises the tomb of Firoz Shah, a mosque and a madrasa.

The Hauz Khas village, surrounding the Hauz Khas Monument, with its luxurious shopping malls and restaurants has proved to be in compliance with the grandeur and the undiscovered luxury of the bygone years. The main attraction of this monument in Delhi is the tomb of Firoz Shah, which is enigmatically decorated with Quranic inscriptions. The beauty of the tomb enraptures the onlooker with its Indo-Islamic architectural blend.

In close proximity to the Nizammuddin Railway Station and the Indira Gandhi International Airport, the Hauz Khas Monument is easily accessible from the major city centers. Auto-rickshaws and taxis can also be availed to reach this tourist destination in Delhi.

The Hauz Khas Monument stands in benign commemoration of the years gone by and awaits the years that are yet to come. It would continue to stand in humble testimony of the cultural heritage of India.
