Rajpath hosts the brilliant parade on 26th of January, which is the Indian Republic Day. The grand military parade, which is participated by the best of the NCC cadets from across the country is a great attraction to all. As Rajpath is surrounded by all the politically important places and buildings, the area has high security and protection.
Rajpath is one of the most important places for Delhi Tourism, as it is a significant tourist spot. People visiting Delhi never wish to miss out on visiting Rajpath, as it is the pride of the city. On both sides of Rajpath are the Secretariats, called the North Block and the South Block. These long office blocks built by Sir Herbert Baker are topped with Baroque domes and overlaid with Indian motifs like the elephants and lotus. In front of the Secretariats is the Vijay Chowk - Victory crossing, where the ceremonial Beating Retreat is performed culminating the Republic Day celebrations.
