Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, Indore is one of the premier institutions of Indore city. It is controlled by the Sri Sathya Sai Trust. This school has derived its name from the much famed social worker Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar is one of the oldest educational institutes of Indore, which started operating from the year 1980. The school had a total population of 60 students in the first year of its operations. The first principal of Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar was Mrs. Maitreyi Padmanabhan. She was known as "Big Madam" for she was a woman of high qualification who was loved and revered by all for her great contributions towards the school. From then on it strove very hard to reach the zenith of success in the field of education.

In the recent times it has gained much popularity amongst the local inhabitants of Indore. Now, it has a total population of 2,500 students and the faculty strength is almost 75. Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar has an excellent alumni, which is scattered all across the world. The school believes in doing a lot of social work. Presently, the principal of this school is Mr. S.N. Patwardhan who is making great efforts to better the overall infrastructure of Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, Indore. He is an eminent personality who is known for his great endeavors in the field of education. The social events and celebrations are conducted in a big scale annually for instance the school fest and sports day. Every year the students look forwards towards these eventful days.
