Madhya Pradesh Bhoj University (Open), Bhopal

Madhya Pradesh Bhoj University (Open), Bhopal was established under an Act of the State Assembly in 1991 to provide easily accessible education to the people of the state. This institute of education is working towards establishing flexible and excellent quality higher education through multimedia and e- learning mode.

This university was named after Raja Bhoj, in order to honor this great patron of learning. He established a university for Sanskrit studies at Dhar, which was popularly known as the Bhojshala. It attracted scholars from all corners of the country.

The MPBOU of Bhopal imparts knowledge and education to learners from different sections of the society, irrespective of their gender, region, status, caste and age, through the Open and Distance learning system. This university of Bhopal is trying to develop means to reach even the remotest corners of the state. They have also earned noteworthy success in certain cases. The Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University has successfully developed some programs that can help them to provide higher education in the less developed and tribal areas of this Indian state.

The MPBOU in Bhopal uses textbooks, printed lessons and the mode of contact teaching, along with practical class in order to provide quality education. They also take the help of satellite communications for this purpose.

The main objective of the Madhya Pradesh Bhoj University (Open), Bhopal, one of the most important among the Bhopal Universities and Research centers, is to provide and develop a very easy mode of higher education and training in the country.
