Intelligence Bureau

The Intelligence Bureau is India's premier internal intelligence body. The Indian Central Government organisation is more popularly known by its initials, IB.

The Intelligence Bureau is a secretive organisation. The Intelligence entity is responsible for the collation of relevant information within India's borders. The Intelligence body also executes counter-intelligence moves. Counter-terrorism activities are also executed by the Central Intelligence Bureau. The IB is responsible for verifying the antecedents of key Indian government personnel. The organisation also has the power to break privacy laws like the tapping of communication devices including telephones. The Intelligence Bureau has a subsidiary state level organisation-Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau or SIB in every Indian state government capital.
