Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas


Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas is headed by Minister Shri. Murli Deora. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas of India is responsible for improving the production of natural gas and oil in the country. It also looks into the marketing, export, import of oil and natural gas produced in India. The preservation of the liquefied gas and other petroleum products depends entirely on the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas of India regulates and tries to improve the services of the various oilfields located in the country. It also controls the production of the oil refineries that includes the lube plants too. The Ministry looks after the supply, distribution, prices for petroleum products and natural gas. The discovery of petroleum resources is another major concern of the Ministry.

The Ministry is responsible for improvement in the production of natural gas and petroleum in India. Apart from performing these functions, it also looks into the proper execution of certain acts, like:
