Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports


Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports was first established as the Department of Sports in the year of 1982. It was converted into a ministry on 27th May, 2000. This ministry looks after the development and growth of the various sports and youth affairs of India. Its two major objectives are personality building and nation building.

Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports also houses a departmental library where various books are available containing articles on sports, literature, physical education, yoga, youth programs and so on. Besides, there are also audio and video-cassettes as well as annual and other reports of different ministries and departments.
The organizational structure of the Indian Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is as follows:
  1. 16 Group A Officers including Secretary, Joint Secretaries, Directors and Deputy Secretaries.

  4. 1 Principal Private Secretary

There are also some employees working at the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of India who belongs to the Scheduled Castes and Schedule Tribes category. The Subordinate Office of the Ministry is the National Service Scheme Organization (NSSO). Mr SK Ratho is the Director of the Ministry. A Vigilance

and Public Grievance Cell also works under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, India.
