Porbandar is the place where the 'Father of the Nation', Mahatma Gandhi was born in October 1869. Kirti Mandir is the name of the house which witnessed the birth of the great leader. It is a popular tourist spot in the middle of town. People from each and every part of the globe come here to feel the pulse of the Indian freedom movement. Gandhi's family left the house in 1881.
