Porbandar lies on the seashore in between Dwarka and Somnath. As the epic goes it is the home of Sudama Brahman, the friend of Lord Krishna. Porbandar in Gujarat was known as the Sudama Puri. You will find here a Sudama Temple.

Porbandar is the place where the 'Father of the Nation', Mahatma Gandhi was born in October 1869. Kirti Mandir is the name of the house which witnessed the birth of the great leader. Air: The airport is 5 km from town

Bus: There are regular buses to Dwarka , Veraval , Junagadh , Diu , and Rajkot .
