Rail Transport

The state of Haryana is rooted in the well laid network of rail transport. The rail roads connect the remote villages and towns within the state and also facilitate connectivity with the other neighboring states and cities. The rail transport in Haryana has also facilitated immensely under the National Capital Region scheme.

The total region of the state of Haryana is divided into 81 cities and towns. The rail transport in Haryana connects these cities and towns making accessibility much easier. Traversing the semi desert regions of Sirsa district and the hilly areas of Panchkula and Ambala district would have been difficult but for the rail transport in Haryana that travels through these difficult geographical terrains. The central government cooperates with the state government in promoting the rail transport of the state that shall facilitate the people around this region. The government has proposed to develop a rail corridor that connect Delhi and other satellite towns to the cities and towns in Haryana.

Scheduled trains ply regularly from the stations to various destinations within the state and to the neighboring regions. The Indian railways connect the state to the major cities of the country. The details of the scheduled arrival and departure time of the trains and their tickets are available at the railway station and various counters set up by the government. The government of Haryana is implementing plans to promote the growth of the rail transport in the state.
