The dominion of Kuluta is a very prominent part of the history of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Kuluta forms a vital section of the Early History of the beautiful lands of Himachal Pradesh. The land in which the people of Kuluta inhabited is also known as the kingdom of Kilita.
The kingdom of Kilita in the ancient Himachal Pradesh was located in the valley areas. They lived in the upper region of the Beas Valley. Perhaps, it is the reason that the place is also known as the Kully valley. The land of Kilita had its capital at a place, which they called Naggar.
The history of Himachal Pradesh has come a long way. There have been studies on the consequent eras in the history of Himachal Pradesh. The researches have shown that there have been many tribes and clans, who have made the present day Himachal Pradesh, their homes. The history can be divided into several distinguished ages. The Kuluta falls under the Early History of Himachal Pradesh. The Period of Early History can be firther divided into six different epochs. These are Audumbras, Trigarta, Kuluta, Kulindas, Gupta Empire and Harsha.
