Seven major Political Parties exist on the land of Himachal Pradesh. These are All India Tribes and Minorities Front, Him Loktrantic Morcha, Himachal Kranti Party, Himachal Vikas Congress, Himachal Pradesh Lok Raj Party, Janhit Morcha and Loktrantic Morcha Himachal Pradesh. Serving the people of the state from many past years, the Political Parties of the state strive to form a strong foothold in the national domain of Politics.
Leaded by Mangal Singh Negi the All India Tribes and Minorities Front involves itself in the domain of betterment of the tribal folks of Himachal Pradesh. The Party also takes interest in the United Nation's Kashmir affair.
Him Loktrantic Morcha, an apt alternative of the Indian National Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party, came into being in 2003 and today it comprises of the Communist Party of India, Janata Dal, Samajwadi Party and Lok Janashakti Party, among others.
Himachal Kranti Party, a result of the state assembly elections of 1998, is today a prime Political Party of Himachal Pradesh.
Formed in 2004, Himachal Vikas Congress is headed by Shri Sukh Ram. The Party owes its origin to the exit of the Sukh Ram from the Indian National Congress.
Governed by famous leaders like Thakur Singh Negi and J B L Khachi, the Himachal Pradesh Lok Raj Party presented 16 of its constituencies in the state assembly elections of 1972.
Janhit Morcha, leaded by the former agriculture minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Vidya Sagar, was established in 2002. After coming out of the Opposition Party of the state - Bharatiya Janata Party - Shri Sagar contested from the Kangra district in the state elections of 2003.
Loktrantic Morcha Himachal Pradesh had been set up in 2003. After a Political split from the Him Loktrantic Morcha, the Party put up 14 nominated contenders for the 2003 state assembly elections. In 2004, the Party supported the National Democratic Alliance which is under the guidance of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Empowering the government of Himachal Pradesh as a whole, the Political Parties of the state are contributing significantly through their diligent socio-economic efforts.
