All the places like the Sirsa valley of Nalagarh, Markanda valley of Sirmour and the Bangana valley of Kangra were some of the sites of the early settlements on earth. The basements and the foothills of the Himachal hills are considered very significant as these regions were the homes to the people of the great Indus valley civilization. This was around the 2250 B.C. to 1750 B.C.

The dwellers of Indus valley civilization that settled in the basements of the hills occupied the place. The initial dwellers of the Ganga plains had to shift to the north of the present day Himachal Pradesh. The original residents of the Ganga Plain region were known as the Kolorian people. They moved in the north of Himachal Pradesh because they could carry on with their lives in peace and prosper and preserve their lifestyle.
