Himachal Pradesh Administrative Tribunal is responsible for the adjudication and subsequent resolution of disputes in matters concerning recruitment, promotion and other conditions of service and other related issues for the people employed in public services.
As per the promulgation of the amendment of Constitution of India by Articles 323A and the parliament's Administrative Tribunals Act 1985, the country's first administrative tribunals were set up in Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta and Allahabad. Currently, statistics have revealed that the country houses 17 Benches of the Tribunal located throughout the country wherever the seat of a High Court is located, with 33 Division Benches. Circuit sittings have also been established at Nagpur, Goa, Aurangabad, Jammu, Shimla, Indore, Gwalior, Bilaspur, Ranchi, Pondicherry, Gangtok, Port Blair, Shillong, Agartala, Kohima, Imphal, Itanagar, Aizwal and Nainital.
The Himachal Pradesh Administrative Tribunal seeks to reduce the High Court's overburdening onus and has adopted measures to implement an inexpensive, speedy and effective employee grievance redress system.
