The Himachal Pradesh State Commission for BC was constituted by the state government to advice the administrative unit for the upheaval of the backward classes of the state. The Himachal Pradesh State Commission for BC also ensures that the rights of the people belonging to these sections are well protected.

The government of the state of Himachal Pradesh adopts measures that are suggested by the state commission for the backward classes. The government ensures that the minorities of the state are adequately represented. The commission makes recommendation for the reservation of seats for these minorities in different sectors. The state government of Himachal Pradesh enacts laws and implements them to ensure that the recommendations of the commission are followed.
