Parliamentary Constituencies


The picturesque of state of Himachal Pradesh is noted for its political activity right from India's pre-independence days. The erstwhile summer capital of the British, Himachal Pradesh became a recognized state on 25th January 1971 and houses four Parliamentary constituencies.

The Lok Sabha Constituencies of Himachal Pradesh include the four districts of Shimla, Mandi, Kangra and Hamirpur whose claim to fame extends beyond their natural beauty and tourist attractions.

At present the Indian National Congress is in power with a powerful government formed under the competent leadership of Chief Minister, Shri Virbhadra Singh and comprises of 4 parliamentary constituencies and 68 assembly constituencies.
