- US nationals: US nationals who are granted 10 years validity tourist or business visa which has the mandatory stipulation that each stay in India will not exceed 180 days, are NOT required to register themselves with the concerned FRO/FRRO if their continuous stay does not exceed 180 days. If due to any valid reason, the continuous stay exceeds 180 days, the foreigner should approach the concerned FRO/FRRO for registration, who will in turn register them and grant permission for their exit from India
- Children below 16 years: As per para 2 of Registration of Foreigners (Exemption) Order, 1957, children below the age of 16 years are exempt from the requirement of registration.
