The city of Indore is well connected to most of the cities in north and Central India by road. Regular buses ply from Ujjain and Bhopal to the city of Indore. The bus routes also connect the city of Indore to Mumbai, Maheshwar, Aurangabad, Sanchi, Ahmedabad, Gwalior, Mandu, Omkareshwar and Vidisha.

Traveling to Indore by train is one of the most convenient and affordable ways of transportation. Regular trains run along the broad gauge and the meter gauge to the various cities of the country from Indore. The region falls under the Western Railways division. The trains connect the city to Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Jaipur, Bhopal, Dehradun, Gwalior and Agra.

Reaching Indore, Madhya Pradesh is easier due to the international airport located at a distance of 10 kilometers from the center of the city. National and international flights arrive at the Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport at Indore. The infrastructure of the airport has been developed to house cargo and passenger flights. The Jet Airways and Indian Airlines are the domestic airlines that fly regular flight to and from the city. Private airlines like the Kingfisher, Sahara Airline and Spice Jet also fly low budget flights to Indore.
