BANGALORE ITINERARY
Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka, is a city with many nicknames: "India's Silicon Valley", "Fashion capital of India", "Pub City", and "The Garden City". It is located on the Mysore plateau in southwestern Karnataka. Bangalore has an estimated metropolitan population of 6.1 million, making it India's fifth largest city and the fastest growing city in Asia. The city was founded in the 16th century, and witnessed great southern dynasties like the Kadambas, the Hoysalas and Vijayanagar emperors.

Home to many outstanding educational institutes, Bangalore has second highest literacy rate in the country. The establishment and success of high technology firms in Bangalore after the liberalisation of India's economy has led to the growth of India's information technology (IT) industry. Today, Bangalore accounts for 35% of India's software products.

Many tourists are attracted to Bangalore because of its warm weather throughout the year. The tourism industry of Bangalore always prospers. Everyone has a different reason to love Bangalore. The city offers enough to cater everybody's needs. It has parks, lakes, museums, art galleries, religious places and historical monuments.

HISTORICAL ITINERARY
The wonderful past of Bangalore offers enough for tourists interested in history. It has many forts and palaces. The Bangalore Palace is a magnificent landmark of the bygone era. The palace is situated in the middle of the Bangalore city and its architecture is based on the Tudor style. It reminds one of the Windsor Palace of England. Tipu Sultan's Palace gives the idea of the ethnic Mughal lifestyle. The fort and its remains present the history of the era in which it was built. Other places of historic interest in Bangalore are Attara Kacheri (High Court) and Sheshadri Iyer Memorial Hall.

RELIGIOUS ITINERARY
The city's original architect, Kempe Gowda, built the Bull Temple in Bangalore. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva's vehicle, Nandi, the bull and has his 4.5 meters tall and 6 meters long statue. Sri Dodda Ganapathi temple is very near to the Bull Temple and houses an enormous statue of the elephant-headed deity, Lord Ganesha. Another temple worth visiting in Bangalore is the Banashankari Temple. It is one of the most popular temples of Bangalore. Devotees believe that by worshipping the goddess Banashankari Amma in Rahukala one's hardships and poverty will be removed.

CULTURAL ITINERARY
Bangalore houses many museums and art galleries. The State Archaeological Museum was designed and built by Colonel Sankey in 1876. Being one of the oldest museums in the country, it has an exquisite collection of inscriptions, excavated items, coins, sculptures and old paintings. Bangalore's art galleries are a must visit if you are an art lover. The Venkatappa Art Gallery has about 600 paintings on display and Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat has a unique collection of traditional paintings, leather puppets and artifacts of Karnataka.

LEISURE ITINERARY
There are many gardens and lakes in Bangalore. It is famous worldwide for the botanical gardens of Lal Bagh. The park has some rare species of plants brought from Persia, Afghanistan and France and has red roses that bloom throughout the year. The Cubbon Park, which was laid out in 1864 by Sir Richard Sankey has vibrant flowerbeds and luscious green lawns. This makes it an ideal picnic spot. The Park has elegant classical buildings such as the Visveswaraya Industrial and Technological Museum, Government Museum, Aquarium, Venkatappa Art Gallery and Seshadri Iyer Memorial Hall, all of which are well known. Other famous gardens in the city are Cariappa Memorial Park and Bannerghatta National Park. There are also some lakes in Bangalore that are worth a visit. Ulsoor Lake is centrally located and covers a space of 1.5 sq. km. You can enjoy a boat-ride, which includes stops at some of the tiny islands that dot the lake. Sankey Tank is another lake that offers boating facilities of rowboats, pedal boats and motorboats. A swim center is also housed within the boundaries of the Sankey Tank
