Jalandhar Radio



Jalandhar radio is one of the chief resources of media in Jalandhar in Punjab. There are a variety of radio stations that one can tune into at this district of Punjab. The Jalandhar radio stations are quite popular among the people who stay in this district.

There is one All India Radio station for radio broadcasting in Jalandhar. It is called All India Radio Jalandhar. This radio station was started on the 16th of May in the year 1948. There are three major programs that are broadcast on this station. These Jalandhar radio programs are Jalandhar Service, Vivid Bharti and Urdu Service.

There are separate transmitters for broadcasting these programs. The transmitters of Goraya broadcast the programs of Urdu Service and Vivid Bharti while the transmitter in Jalandhar relays the program Jalandhar Service.

One of the special attractions of the All India Radio, Jalandhar is the broadcasting of the Gurbani Vichar directly from the Golden Temple of Amritsar. It is relayed twice daily, once in the morning and again in the evening. The frequencies of the different All India Radio stations of Jalandhar are 873 kHz, 702 kHz and 102.7 Mhz.

Other than the All India Radio stations, there is a couple of other radio stations in Jalandhar. Some of the well known radio stations of Jalandhar are Big 92.7 FM, Radio Mantra, Radio Mirchi and My FM. The frequencies of Radio Mantra, Radio Mirchi and My FM are 91.9 Mhz, 98.3 Mhz and 94.3 Mhz respectively.
