Jammu and Kashmir Accounts & Treasuries


Among the Government Departments of Jammu and Kashmir, Accounts & Treasuries is an important one. Jammu and Kashmir Accounts & Treasuries has been assigned with a number of functions. The treasuries department in Jammu and Kashmir are hundred and three in number.

The Directorate of Accounts & Treasuries in Jammu and Kashmir looks after the placement and administration of State Accounts Service as well as it undertakes the training program of the Accountants. The directorate also conducts inspection of the different departments under it for proper functioning and handling of accounts. They also sets up procedures for handling of accounts and takes measures to improve the quality of work. They are also associated with the Audit Department and they review records regularly.

Accounts & Treasuries Department of Jammu and Kashmir has been set up with the Director of Accounts & Treasuries and he is assissted by Deputy Director of Accounts & Treasuries, Senior Scale Officers, Additional Treasury Officers and Assistant Accounts Officers.

Management of cash, is one of the primary duties of Jammu and Kashmir Accounts & Treasuries. This department looks after the availability and expenditure of resource. They also handle the matters related to the finance of the state.

A remarkable achievement in the Jammu and Kashmir Accounts & Treasuries is the introduction of computerized system. This advanced technology will improve the management of finance in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
