Small Industries Development Corporation was brought into force to take care of the industrial development of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The main objective of this Jammu and Kashmir Commission is to promote rapid industrialization in the state.

This is a nodal agency that looks after the distribution of the raw materials that are imported from other states as well as produced in the state to the different industries in the state. With their efforts the small industries of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir are flourishing day by day.

The corporation takes care of the establishment of various industrial estates in potential industrial centers of the state. The corporation for small industries development in the state of Jammu and Kashmir has established estates in Gangyal, Kathua and Birpur. They have also developed centers at Zakura and Bijbehare in Srinagar.

The Small Industries Development Corporation of Jammu and Kashmir was entrusted the responsibility of establishing an integrated infrastructure development center at Udhampur after a joint decision of the government of India and the state government. The Small Industries Development Corporation is responsible for taking care of providing financial assistance for proper marketing of the industrial products to the various units.
