Jammu and Kashmir Governor


A strict disciplinarian, an ardent reader and devoted army officer are possibly the best terms to describe the versatile nature of the Honorable Jammu and Kashmir Governor, Mr. Narinder Nath Vohra . An army officer by profession, the Governor, Lt. Gen (Retd) S.K.Sinha is known for his sheer intelligence and academic proficiency. Shri S.K. Sinha has served the Army in various capacities and roles since the tender age of seventeen.

The honorable Governor of Jammu and Kashmir was born in the year 1926. Shri S.K.Sinha completed his graduation from the University of Patna with flying colors. Thereafter he joined the Indian Army and was adjudged the title of the Best Cadet in the Officers Training College of Belgaum.

As a young army officer, Shri S.K.Sinha had participated in various significant wars during the Second World War. His diligence and intense foresightedness had enabled him to grab various important positions of Secretary of the important committee that was formed to discuss the cessation of ceasefire, and the head of a group that attained the meeting on the importance of human rights during the post operative phase. Thereafter the Honorable Governor had participated in several important conferences and meetings to strengthen the military capabilities of our country.

Shri S.K.Sinha is credited with many strategic positions in the army. To crown his achievements, the devoted army officer was finally awarded with the prestigious position of Governor of Assam in the year 1997. His firm determination had brought about a drastic change in the political scenario of the state and had led to the restoration of peace and order.

Shri S.K.Sinha had become the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir on the 4th of June in the year 2003. It is fervently hoped that under the able guidance of Jammu and Kashmir Governor Honorable Shri S.K.Sinha, the state will reach the zenith of success and make India proud.
