The Jammu and Kashmir roadways provide an alternative route of travel in the state. The government of Jammu and Kashmir has developed road links and arranged for the inter state and intra state travel. The roadways of Jammu and Kashmir are linked with the rest of the country facilitating tourism in the state.
Realizing the need of proper Jammu and Kashmir roadways and road transport facilities in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, the World Bank has also sanctioned an aid and proposed to undertake a project to build roads in the districts of Kathua, Anantnag, Budgam, Rajouri, Baramula, Jammu, Kargil and Leh.
Bus services are provided by the J & K SRTC in the state. It has its office in Vir Marg in Jammu. Taxis are also made available for the tourists by the Tourist Taxi Association. Last Updated on 8/29/2011
