Dogri is one of the main languages that are spoken in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It has been recognized as one of the official languages of the state in the constitution of Jammu and Kashmir. The language of Dogri shares the status of being the official state language of Jammu and Kash-mir, along with three other languages. These languages are Urdu, Ladakhi and Kashmiri. Many people in the state of Jammu and Kashmir speak in Dogri Language. It has gained more popularity as a spoken language in the region in and around Jammu.
Dogri is a proper language that possesses its own grammar. It also has its own dictionary, which will help bringing the language closer to its users as well as common people.

The language of Dogri is taught in the schools of Jammu and Kashmir in the Secondary as well as in the Senior Secondary level. The language has also been included into the higher education upto the level of Post Graduation in the Jammu University.
