There are six parliamentary constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir, which are as follows:
The parliamentary constituency of Udhampur constitutes of 17 Assembly segments extending to the three districts of Doda, Udhampur and Kathua. It is the second largest parliamentary constituency in Jammu and Kashmir. This parliamentary constituency covers an area of 18,862 sq. km, of which 11,691 sq. km is in Doda district, 4,520 sq. km is in Udhampur and 2,651 sq. km in Kathua district.
Some of the major political parties that contest the Jammu and Kashmir parliamentary elections are Bharatiya Janata Party, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party, Janata Dal (Secular), Bahujan Samaj Party, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal, All India Forward Bloc, Indian National Congress and Samajwadi Party. The state encompasses an area of 22,22,236 sq. km and has the total population of 77,18,700.
Jammu parliamentary constituency is divided into 20 Assembly segments, of which 13 Assembly segments are in the district of Jammu, four in Rajouri and three in Poonch district.
