Situated on the banks of the Jhelum River, the Khanqah-e-Moulla has emerged as one of the favorite hunt for history freaks and general tourists. Historians believe, the Khanqah-e-Moulla in Srinagar was originally built by Sultan Sikander. He constructed the shrine to remember the works of famous Sufi saint and preacher – Mir Syed Ali Hamdan.
The ancient shrine was gutted in fire but it was rebuilt by the worshipers. They offer daily prayers and seek blessings for their dear ones. The shrine witnesses a huge crowd of worshipers and tourists during the last month of Muslim calender. Khanqah-e-Moulla is an important part of the Jammu & Kashmir Pilgrim Tourism.
