The barks of the Kaylier pine from which the products are made are first cleaned after which the prototype of the product is made. Ideally the intricate design is painted on a dark background that is either blue, black, green or white in color. A thin layer of stretched sheepskin is coated on the wood based papier mache product and is used for coloring pigments. Often gold or silver dust is scattered on top of the craft to create a more elaborate effect.
