Shalimar Garden

Shalimar Garden is located in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is a wonderful tourist place. The garden was laid by the Mughal Emperor Jehangir. It was dedicated to his favorite queen Nur Jahan.

The Shalimar Garden in Jammu and Kashmir is one of the most well maintained parks in this locality. This picturesque garden is elegantly designed and decorated with flowerbeds and canals. There are about four shallow terraces that come one above the other.

The Shalimar Garden of Kashmir gets its water supplied from Harwan through a canal. This canal is decorated with a lining of various plants and shrubs and beautiful fountains. During the spring and autumn seasons the garden is gorgeous with various colorful flowers. A large variety of fruit plants are also there in the garden.

This is a wonderful picnic spot. This place is most frequented during the summer months. A large number of local people also come here during this season on holidays and other special days.

A royal spring, known as the Chashmashahi, was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the year of 1632 A.D. This spring is famous for its crystal clear water. The water here is rich with minerals and is a good digestive one.

Through the middle of the Shalimar Garden there are some elegant and beautiful fountains laid. There are also some massive Chinar trees that you will find in this place.

Two kilometers uphill from the Chashmashahi the Pari Maha is located. There is a school of Philosophy and Astrology in this place. Researches on various religions are done here.

Shalimar Garden is one of the most visited Jammu and Kashmir Popular Tourist Spots.
